Escort Extorts Client For R70 000 - Ethekwini - KZN

A man was extorted out of R70 000 after he made telephonic contact with an Escort on Friday.

The male contacted Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) after he received demands for further payment of R25000 (yesterday). He informed a Reaction Officer that he made telephonic contact with the female on Friday and enquired about services she provided. He declined to make a booking and ended the conversation.

He thereafter received threatening messages and demands for a time wasting fee to be paid. He initially refused to make the payment, but the extortionist forwarded him pictures from his Social Media accounts. They threatened to contact his family and inform them that he attempted to solicit the services of an Escort. The victim thereafter made three (3) payments totalling R70 000 into three (3) different bank accounts.

The demands continued, but the complainant stated that his accounts were depleted.

Gents the most important thing get a riccad sim .I change mine every month or so and only use it when punting otherwise MySpare is off .I never take my real phone in to a wg's place. Don't use yours unnamed either. I phone my real phone and check true caller shows a different name .usually these Sims numbers are recycled so tru caller shows the original name .I go ontru caller and change the name to Bob green or something .better safe than sorry.

R70 000 out of pocket for just making an innocent phone call.

Any Pakistan shop. Sim is free. Need to buy airtime from them.

I think guys get paranoid also when the calls come in.

I have received many calls over the last couple years, and as most recent as last week from these 'cops' telling me I have been charged for assault and whatever story they have.
Once I hear the bullshit, I end the call and block the number.

But there are girls working with these guys and sell punters details.

She's probably so bad that she doesn't get any clients at all and hence goes to these lengths to extort money.
